Project Manager

Carrier Commercial Service has an opening for an experienced HVAC Commercial Project Manager, based out of our
Greater Toronto Area location. This position has responsibility for managing mechanical retrofit, building automation
controls and equipment installations across Ontario, with a focus in the Greater Toronto Area. The Project Manager
will work with sales, subcontractors, and operational teams to develop and deliver quality projects on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate should have experience in the commercial air conditioning and building automation controls
business including subcontractor management, project design, and a proven ability to develop robust relationships
with other team members and customers.

Responsibilities:
• Fully accountable for the successful delivery of HVAC related projects with Carrier Commercial Service clients
• Influence, engage and lead project delivery teams, which may include sub-contractors, partners and / or Carrier technicians, to share a mutual project delivery vision to meet client needs
• Act as the primary contact with the customer; develop a professional relationship with the purpose of understanding the customer needs while delivering to the project scope
• Organize and lead project kick-off, progress and turn over meetings with internal and client stakeholders throughout the project cycle
• Develop, update and communicate project delivery schedules, which include project milestones, status updates, risks and dependencies throughout the project cycle
• Proactively document delays, changes in scope and any other incidents that impact the scope of work or schedule to manage and mitigate risks
• Maintain a central database of project information that can be archived and accessed by all project team members and Carrier’s leadership team
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives in delivering projects
• Develop strong working relationships with sub-contractors and delivery partners
• Maintain a database of sub-contractors and delivery partners for future projects
• Document, negotiate and secure change orders for out of scope projects with clients, sub-contractors and delivery partners
• Review and provide input on sales estimates
• Responsible for the overall financial performance of projects being delivered, including project planning, billing, revenue forecasting and A/R collections
• Manage the ordering of materials and logistics according to the project plan and progress, ensuring that all material delivered can be billed
• Responsible for completing projects per the contractual requirements within budget, on-time and with a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Responsible for the coordination of materials, identifying lead-time constraints, and taking corrective action to remedy any issues.
• Complete and submit local building permits / Notice of Project documentation as required
• Ensure that all EH&S and all project specific safety requirements are met
• Ensure that all action item lists are completed and project quality expectations are met
